LOSC goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier underwent meniscus surgery in his left knee on Tuesday. Injured during an air excursion at the end of Sunday’s match between Nantes and Mastini (1-2), he was forced to give up his place to Vito Mannone.
Prepared for the last match of the season on Sunday against Nice, the 22-year-old will begin rehabilitation to get back on track for the Olympic Games (24 July – 9 August). A competition where he should be the captain of the selection led by Thierry Henry. It should be delivered within six to eight weeks.
Three years ago, Chevalier had already undergone meniscus surgery in his right knee. He recovered sooner than expected and returned after just over a month.
