Iga Swiatek gets rid of Madison Keys in the quarterfinals in Rome

Still no set dropped by Iga Swiatek this week. The Pole has never been put in difficulty by Madison Keys after her quiet victory this Tuesday at the Rome tournament (6-1, 6-3). Controlled quarter-finals for the world number 1 who showed great resistance, excluding 10 break points in favor of the American (16th).

The Pole used all her defensive qualities to resist Keys’ attacks who attempted to maneuver her, without ever managing to make her bend. Imperial in her game, she left only four games on her opponent’s serve to reach the semi-finals. After dropping out quarters of last year the double winner of the tournament (2021 and 2022) will meet Coco Gauff or Zheng Qinwen for a place in the final.
